Understanding supervision
In the context of counseling, supervision is a crucial component of professional development for therapists. It involves a qualified and experienced supervisor providing guidance, support, and oversight to a therapist, helping them to enhance their skills, ensure ethical practice, and navigate complex client cases. For those pursuing independent licensure, supervision is a required step to meet professional standards and deepen clinical expertise.
Our supervision context
At Restoration Path Counseling LLC, I am currently under the supervision of Keaha Beckelhymer, LISW-S, C-DBT. This arrangement is part of my journey to obtain the necessary supervision hours for independent licensure. Please note that I am also contracted with Steel Magnolia Trauma Counseling LLC to provide therapy services.
Who can benefit
Supervision is ideal for counselors in training, those working towards independent licensure, or therapists seeking to refine their clinical skills. It provides a structured environment for case consultation, ethical dilemma resolution, and personal growth within the profession.
